Young Oaks to be Chopped Down after just 13 Years

Oak trees lining a street in Launceston, Cornwall which were planted at the turn of the new millennium, are now under threat from developers wishing to erect a new Morrisons supermarket as well as a new hotel. The 100 trees were originally planted with the aim of lasting a 1000 years.

Whilst the developer as promised to replant new trees within the new development, locals are adamant that the move will desecrate what was meant to be a ‘beautiful monument designed for generations to come’.
