Deadly Tree Disease Affecting Oaks in UK

From its identification in early December 2012, Acute oak decline has been recorded in about 15% of the oak trees in Warndon Wood on the outskirts of Worcester.

Symptoms of the disease include black lesions that appear on the trunk and bows.

Walkers are being advised not remove branches, leaves or any other debris from the woodland floor in case the disease is spread to other woodland.

Please help this cause by following the rangers guidelines.
